The European Day of Languages is celebrated every year on 26th September. Europe is lucky to enjoy a rich diversity of language and cultures with 200 European languages, 24 Official EU languages and it is estimated around 60 regional languages. These figures are not including languages spoken by people from elsewhere within the world who have migrated to live within the EU which enrich the diversity of languages spoken still further.

To celebrate this day in our section, we have done an activity involving several languages. The students have done some communication tasks. They had to choose 4 challenges such as saying the numbers 1 to 10 in 4 different European languages, memorising a poem, song or text in another language, writing a postcard or greeting someone in 6 different languages.

We have had a fun time and at the same time they have been using different foreign European languages in a stressfree atmosphere!
